Thank you all for your lovely encouraging comments. I wanted to convey the glorious coat colour, intelligence and sheer muscular athleticism of the dog (originally Rhodesian Ridgebacks were bred to hunt down animals, including lions, and to protect livestock). I shall definitely paint another one of these magnificent dogs.
