Thank you for your lovely encouraging comments. This was my first attempt at soft pastel on velour - a paper with a velvety finish - and I found it a very sympathetic texture to describe fur texture. I also loved exploring the complementary warm and cool hues on the dog, and decided to emphasise this with a lavender background to give the feeling of a cool (even snowy!) environment.
