Photos are always a good start , for reference or something to fall back on. Go outside and amaze people with what you can do. Forget the punters.. you will learn different things from painting on the spot and once you've done it, is gets easier.

This is a different style for you, and I like it.nothing wrong with painting from photos, just don't be a slave to the image. I myself am just start 'en plein air' painting ,having done only one, in winter weather..looking forward to summer, but must admit painting in my studio/spare room with the music playing and nice and warm does imo have its advantages, even if it's against the current trend.

Lovely. Great textures.

Thanks guys for the encouragement. Once someone turns the tap off in Cornwall I will try painting outside (probably in the safety of the garden or the car).

Karyn Fox

Have returned after a bit of a battle, since last December, with a surprise brain tumour. Had surgery, just before lockdown, to remove the sizeable critter and now need to get back to a bit of painting. So start off with a bit of iPad painting to try and get in the swing of things.
