Showers passing through

Painting outside scares the daylights out of many of us, don't worry about that: do you have a car? Many get around their fear by painting from the security of their vehicle - I don't, 'cause I haven't got one! But I would if I could. This works well - that's not to say I'd like to see every painting produced like this, but you've got a good sense of movement, and a strong feeling that you're just about to get very wet; and it's conveying those sensations which painting is about, basically.

Thanks Robert. When I was painting this I thought perhaps this is what it would look like through glass. Never thought about sitting in the car but think I might give it a try now you've mentioned it.

I like the balance between abstractions and reality.
