You have painted this beautifully. I can imagine it was quite challenging however you have done it brilliantly and retained a sadness to it.

I was asked if i could paint this from an old black and white library still from after the Battle of Passchendaele. Has certainly been a challenge - have spent some time looking at old WW1 photos that have been re-coloured to try to find a colour palette that works. Credit to the original photographer for the composition. The real challenge for me was to not lose the haunting emotive tragedy of the original with my drawing style and my imagined colour.
