Thanks Gudrun. I thought this one worked out well but the others less so. I like the way it bleeds strongly and creates some happy accidents. I need accidents. I keep trying the landscapes in the hope I get better. I'm happier away from detail, like this one. Because I'm poor at detail I tend towards semi-abstract. So maybe that's where I should be. I really like to see your portraits Gudrun.

I really like this - simple, free and fresh - always the best!

I was born in 1946. In the 1960s and part of the 70s I was an airman in the Royal Navy, Fleet Air Arm. I joined Durham Constabulary in 1971. In 1999 I retired from policing and began teaching sociology and criminology at Durham University with emphasis on policing and researching crime. I am drawn…
