Village life

You've made a good job with those pencils Keith - the bricks are really well done. Is it Hartington?

I agree with last comment Keith. Lovely area and full of interesting subjects. Enjoy your pencils.

Thank you both, yes it is Hartington i don't think the shop is open any more when we were there they said it was closing☹

A charming village scene, Keith!

Very pleasant and calm scene

Thank you Anne and Romila this is my first attempt at using coloured pencils so just learning.

Excellent result for a first go with pencils Keith. Looks a lovely setting.

Thank you Fiona

Love this one, too, Keith; I don’t know Hartington ,but I’ve seen many a similar village scene similar, around our beautiful country! Essential English village ❣️. I especially like your straightforward “this is what I am seeing “ approach, like a camera, but not just a photoportrait , a “Keith Batey view “ love it. You’ve said you don’t think you’re good enough to sell; I would buy this, (obviously within my budget), but a lot of the pieces you’ve produced are way better than stuff I’ve seen on sale in villages and towns I’ve visited where “local artist” has a shop or exhibits often in the tearoom or cafe, and a lot of stuff I’ve seen I’ve not given a second look. Your work is better than a lot I’ve seen- start thinking about selling, dear heart, you’ll find your market. I would love to see this piece of art on my wall, below my picture of?Bamburgh Castle. Think on, maestro 😁🌈x

Thank you so much Roseanne we will see. xxx

This is a small village in the peak district famous for its cheese. This is done using coloured pencil which i have never tried before.

About the Artist
Keith Batey

I started my art 12 months ago after recovering from an accident. My love of photography took a step back while i concentrated on art, i loved art at school and now at 65 realise what i have missed all those years ago.
