I too love the Johnson's Blue, mine were given to me originally by my father who bought his from a monastery in Wales by mail order. I don't know what he was expecting but he was hopping mad when they flowered & he discovered that they were the flowers that grow wild in great abundance all over Derbyshire on roadside verges. Nice try, flowers & leaves look good background needs a little more thought with respect to colour.

I was so impressed by the article by Ann Mortimer in June Leisure Painter that I had a go! Ann's flowers in watercolour are just stunning! Here's what I made of it, with coloured pencils on cartridge paper.I was trying to get the effect of light through the petals, and depth in the jumble of foliage without putting in too much detail. I don't think it is finished yet. I used the Johnson's Blue Geranium because I have it in my garden right now, it's one of my favourites.
