Another great addition to your gallery of your grandchildrens activities. You've certainly succeeded in what you set out to do and what a lively healthy bunch they look, well done.

Well I think this is really lovely. A very clever idea and it certainly has worked. There is so much movement here and they look like they are really enjoying themselves as I sure you did drawing them. Excellent

This is composed from several photographs that I took myself of my grandchildren in a local playground. I wanted to get the feel of the playground without drawing the equipment in detail. This was new for me, as was the heavier colour. I did this in coloured pencil on A2 paper. Usually I draw portraits at least A4 size on A3 paper and I found it difficult to get a good likeness in this smaller size. I need to work really hard on catching a likeness without drawing the features in detail.I 've tried to suggest the different playground surfaces; a kind of dark tarmac , grass, pathways, foliage and the field, sky and the South Downs in the background.
