The Bridge: Four Waterfalls Walk, Ystradfellte

A beautiful and vibrant painting Kathryn. I love the detail too. I have to admit, that I had not heard of black watercolour paper before.

Super perspectives and a lovely painting

Thank you both. The black paper is quite a recent thing I believe and not many people use it at all. A lot of social media posts etc I've seen, the majority of people tend to use it for calligraphy. I find it's fabulous for gouache and pearlescent watercolours as well as coloured pencil. Thinking about it, I don't think I've actually tried using ordinary watercolour paints on it though 🙈.

Beautiful painting, great style. Thanks for the tip about the black paper - I will have to try it .

Gouache on 10"x14" 600gsm legion watercolour black paper. The Bridge, which was placed near the start of the walk looked so inviting. 12km later, 160 very steep steps to climb down and back up along with negotiating some very rocky paths and I felt like that bridge lied to me! Had very wobbly legs after that walk! Such a beautiful place though, I just had to paint it!
