Beautiful painting, Wonderful work Julie

This is beautiful Julie, nice composition and great colours

Fantastic colours and "design". Beautiful.

I take it this is a cuckoo in the nest? It is beautifully painted, Julie. What are the Genesis heat dry oils which you have used...?

Should add, it really is superb, and endangered species are close to my heart...Will you be posting more? I do hope so.

Hi Ruth Genesis heat dry oils are available on line at Jacksonart as far as I know they are the only supplier for these superb oils which stay wet until dried with a special heat gun although the initial outlay can be a bit expensive I started with an Introductory set and then built up from there and still don't have the complete set, the paint comes in small jars lasts a long time and you don't have any wastage as you can get to the bottom of the jar unlike tubes of paint, brushes can be left out also jars can be left open this paint only dries when you want it to, as you have witnessed the colours are very good, the painting of the baby cuckoo was done in 2005 I still have it and the colours are just good as when first painted, the colours mix and blend as with any other paint, to clean up I use Bob Ross ouderless thinners and wash the brushes in soap. In answer to your question about further paintings, yes, most of my pet potraits are painted in this medium, I have also used it for people portrait and landscape, because I use fine canvas the paint goes a long way so lasts a long time, perhaps this is why it is not widely advertised, too economical, ?? i don't know. hope this has been of some help to you, Best Wishes Julie

Wonderful detail, beautiful painting Julie.

Gorgeous Julie!!

what a delightful painting Julie, more please!

Another wonderful painting. I haven't heard a cuckoo for a good 20 years, or seen one in 50 - they weren't attractive birds, at least in habit, but I wonder if they're common anywhere in Britain now.

Thankyou all for your lovely words, I heard the cuckoo this year on more than one occasion Robert, but they are in decline, as for more Ruth, yes I hope so, people are keeping me busy at the moment with pet potraits, also have a little girl to do as soon as possible, I would recommend the paintings of an artist called Basil Ede, and have done some reproductions of his works, unfortunatley due to copy write laws they can only remain with me, I,m not even sure if I could post them on a site like this one without some problems, perhaps someone can enlighten me on this.

In answer to your post Robert, yes I agree with your comments, they are in fact becoming an endangered species, fortunatley I live in the countryside and do hear them, in fact My husband only heard the first one this week, apologies for not answering sooner, always too busy painting to play with computer, I do have a go from time to time, and when a new painting is ready to be shown, the latest one about foxhunting took quite a long time to put together, and it was done in Acrylic, a medium which is quite new to me, so was an experiment, I do not always agree with the principle of hunting, but find the spectical of a hunt very much a British tradition, hence the amusing twist I have given to this latest picture.
