I really like it, it all gels well the design is good to.

A lovely pastel painting Judith, well done! Found your posting eventually...

i would not touch it, being pastel you would spoil it. I think that it is really lovely and well executed. Well done Judith.

Agree with the others - it works well, it's not overdone or laboured. I found this only having noticed your blog entry - by the time I got to it, you were on page 4. The message seems to be, take a bit of time to trawl through all the pages, or you'll never know what you've missed.

This is quite beautiful Judith, lovely pastel.

Like Robert, I found your work after reading your Blog. And I must say, it was it worth looking for it. I don't do pastels, but I like it very much and yours is a beautiful one. I like it. Your composition is ok and I like the contrast between the light flowers and the dark background and then the darker leaves!! I think there is nothing we can do about the multiple postings of newcomers.

I think it has turned out really well , I hope you post more.

I really like this: I think it's a lovely composition and I particularly like the light in the background. The callas look very heroic! Well done - look forward to seeing some more of your work.

Read your blog and totally agree! These flowers are lovely and I especially like the form and colour of the leaves.

Beautiful painting, Judith. I love the composition with the side lighting.

I completely missed this when you posted it, it's lovely. I have the same problems with some soft pastels; they are not always the same consistency and I have to mic makes but I actually prefer to use conte pastels which are very hard. In reply toy your question about my ""Eyes" series, I have answered where people got them right but will rename them all in about a week's time. Thank you very much- no it wasn't part of my studies. It was an idea I had about a year ago but never had time until I finished my course. You can check them all on my watercolour gallery. http://www.painters-online.co.uk/gallery/albumlist.asp?user=1237 (bottom right)

Hello Judith, thank you for your very kind comment on my painting. I'm glad to have discovered your gallery, which contains some lovely gems! Especially love this one - Callas are one of my favorites, and your rendition of them, with the light effect, is wonderful.

trying out my set of daler-rowney soft pastels which I got at the NEC as a freebie when i subscribed to LP. I like them very much although the lemon yellow was not as soft as the others and left a couple of hard to move lines. The painting is on brown card. At the beginning i thought it was going to turn out really well, but i think i kept going too much in some places and need to do a bit more in others. This is definitely one to try again. Be pleased to have some feedback.

In 1990 I took up painting. As with so many amateur painters i started with water colours and visited a number of evening classes. Since then I have tried many media and am currently struggling with water-soluble oils. I find satisfaction in all the different media I have tried so far, (perhaps…
