Really like this watercolour Joseph. Love the contrast between the darks and lights as they are really well balanced. You can see the energy in your brush strokes and this has created a great atmosphere.

Thanks Dympna. Yes I really like this one as well - it's funny how other water colour artists can spot the good stuff - my friends and family only seem to like my detailed work lol - I try to explain that this is impressionism :-)

Well, it takes skill, intuition and nerve to place that brush loaded with paint in just the right place, first time as you've shown here.

Great technique and smashing job

Wonderfully simple but stunningly put together. Super light and shade, as always.

yet another fine watercolour Joseph, I especially like the awning with the sunlight coming through. The Figures as always have a sense of movement.

Thank you everyone for your lovely comments. I angled the composition slightly to create a sense of dynamism and tried to not go into too much detail with the figures so they have a bit of movement. For some reason I really like this painting and I'm going to frame it - not sure why, cant put my finger on it

I squinted at this, let the hubub from the street in through the window, caught a whifff of garlic from the kitchen, and I swear to you: it moved.

Thanks Kim - yes it's a bit of a weird one but I do like it - glad it moved for you :-)
