I've enjoyed seeing the paintings of the flowers from your prolific garden Julie, and this is lovely too. I look forward to seeing your portrait paintings, which is something I personally steer clear of although the subject at my art group today is 'Olympic Gold Medal Winners' and I am going to attempt Mo Farrah!

full of texture and lovely flowers you have captured perfectly :-)

You certainly are a lady of talent and diversity. I have just enjoyed a good look at your gallery and it is packed with wonderful flower paintings, super portraits and your birds are pretty dammed good as well!! Your flowers certainly do seem to bring out the loose style in you and am sure you can keep this looseness with your portraits if that's what you would like to do. Look forward to the new work coming up.

Lovely cottagey-garden flowers, well done Julie.

A lovely and vibrant piece. Love the bold impasto work.

We'll be sorry that this is to be your last flower painting for a while Julie, they have been a riot of colour and all masterfully done. Look forward to your future postings.

Another lovely colourful painting Julie, hope you paint more in the future.

A lovely sunny painting Julie. I love these flowers too.

Last autumn I planted lots of new flowers to try to encourage more bees and butterflies into the garden, and despite the appalling summer it has been reasonably successful. I wanted to capture the colours and so the idea for the flower paintings came about. This will probably be my last flower painting for a while - and I will also be reverting to a paintbrush to do some portrait work (and will begin to tighten up again too!!)
