This is great .You have caught the light coming from the top hitting the lupins just right. This works well with the darker foreground.

Well done Julie! Magnificent job, love the light. I'm looking for my next (victim) subject for the knife. Hope I can do as well as you.

I don't think there IS a right or wrong way to use a painting knife/palette knife - I've seen so many approaches, and I like this one. Enjoying it is the whole point.

Beautiful painting Julie

ooh I really like this one - jumps out from the gallery !

Now this really is special Julie - in fact one of my favourites of all your postings

Thank you to everyone for your most encouraging comments which have given me the impetus I need to carry on and do more with a palette knife.

You seem to be able to produce beautiful paintings in every medium Julie, this is no exception!

This is my favourite from your flower paintings, love the colour and feel of the lupins.

Thank you for dropping by and leaving your thoughts on my 'Bistro' Julie. I haven't worked out yet if writing a 'reply' on my own page comes back to you guys. On this piece of work ... you've painted one of my favourite flowers and however you used that knife, it worked! You've captured the light at just the right angle and the depth of the undergrowth is superb.
