Love the skin tones Julie - you have captured a lovely expression on her face. A beautiful portrait which I am sure she will love.

I agree with Glennis, great tones in her complexion and I like the tones in her hair, very natural.

She has a lovely expression!

Thank you for your kind comments - I do hope she will like it when she sees it - she commissioned it as a birthday present for her husband! He has critiqued some of my earlier portraits too!

What a lovely lady! I'm sure she will love it.

Thank you so much Julie for your lovely comments on my paintings, it is so encouraging! I make my paintings into cards for friends and family and also sell them at our local 'open houses'. I visited the recent exhibition at Foyles bookshop in Charing Cross Road last weekend to see the original paintings for Mark Hearld's new book 'A First Book Of Nature'. The paintings were delightful but out of my reach financially, I did buy the book though and although it's a children's book it will appeal to anyone who loves his art. I really like your portrait of your sister, I am attempting an IPad portrait in the style of Anita Klein which may or may not make it to POL. I was really thrilled to get an email from POL to say that I have been chosen as the Editor's on-line choice to be published in 'The Artist' magazine due out on the 25th of this month. They are also doing a feature on iPad Art, so hopefully it will widen the appeal of iPad Art and assure the doubters that it is a legitimate art. Thanks again for taking the trouble to comment. Christine.

Another lovely portrait Julie, you paint facial features so well and always with lovely skin tone

Stunning work Julie, and the husband is going to love it!

My sister asked me recently if I would paint her portrait. It is painted from a photograph as she lives quite a distance away from me. As usual it was painted in Artisan oils on oil paper.

About the Artist
Julie Bosley

I drifted into painting following four years of City and Guilds creative Embroidery where I found I was enjoying the back-up art work almost more than the embroidery. I did an A level in art and design in 2006, and then joined a life painting class. For the last three years I have belonged to a…
