Great portrait. the reflective light from the hat really lifts it.,well done and I'm sure your "old man" is well pleased with his painting.

Hi Julie, I have put the book you mentioned on my Amazon 'wish list' I'm sure I'll love it. I have one of Carey Ackroyd's books 'Natures Powers and Spells' it is very inspirational.

Water based oil on Georgian oil paper. This was commissioned by my soon-to-be eight year old grand-daughter. The original photo was taken at Down House in Kent - the former home of Charles Darwin. She had put on some dressing up clothes in the children's room and my daughter snapped a photograph. The painting is for her birthday at the end of next month, and I await her comments!
