The different techniques you used for this painting have come together really well Julie, it has good composition, texture and a harmonious palette. The figure in the foreground is the perfect finishing touch!

Thank you all for your lovely comments on my painting. I have now discovered that the village is called Vieussan, and yes, you were right Satu - it is in the Languedoc-Rouissillon region.

From a photograph I took whilst visiting friends in France. I put down a collage base first, then used acrylic paint applied with various different tools such as paint rollers, bits of card etc. The trees in the foreground were initially drawn by blowing acrylic ink through a straw. I enjoyed the whole process!
