Nyhavn by John Warren
"Nyhavn" is probably the best of three paintings I have undertaken using palette knives and it is a technique that I think can be very rewarding as it tends to force you as the artist not to attempt too much detail. Nyhavn is actually a short waterway located in Copenhagen, Denmark, with lots of colour and it is a lovely place to visit. I went to Copenhagen in the depths of winter and it was very cold with deep snow so my ambition is to return in the summer and hopefully have the opportunity to sit at one of those tables under an umbrella sipping a cool lager!
