Very effectively done - I like the way the buildings are leaning over us - protectively, or menacingly? Well,you've got to make your own mind up: the essence of a painting that has worked.

I thought it would be an interesting exercise to paint an essentially monochrome scene and it seemed that a dark and wet street street could be a good location for my painting. Originally it was a a dark thought that placed the man and child in the foreground. Is it a father and son or is something more menacing happening? Maybe we will never know! The painting is based on a street located in Quimper which is a lovely old city that will be found in Brittany, France.
