Oh my word, this is amazing

Three paintings are all great. I like this the most..

This is fantistic! All three paintings reflect you masterly skill. The water draws me into it. I want to look deeper and deeper. Absolutely lovely!

Excellent work John. You're one talented artist !

Wow fantastic! love all three but liked this one best, very well done

i LOVE ALL THREE but this one is fantastic. looking forward to seeing more of your work. keep it up. Julz

Goodness me!! ... and what great composition it has too.

Fantastic work John, I would be interested to know your method of working with oils, I have never been truly satisfied when using the medium.

Hi chris, I really don't have a set method of working in oils, it mainly depends on the subject matter. Riverbank was painted using the traditional oil paints and finished of with a series of glazes. The painting River Dionard was completed using only the tradional method. So much depends on the mood of the subject as to how I tackle it.

How do you make the water, the stones on the river bed and the reflections so realistic and beautiful? I really feel as if I'm gazing at a river rather than a painting. Great work.

Fantastic work! I love it.

John i have just found your pictures, not having been on here for a long while, and WOW! They are really beautiful pieces of work. Congratulations! Beautiful!!!!!!

Puts me in mind of John Singer Sargent and that's no bad thing.

Very nice work indeed John. Lovely 'depth' to the water and feeling of quiet meandering. The 'shine' you get on the water surface makes the painting for me. Thank you for sharing it with us. Jim Grimes

I love all your work. You capture the movement of water and the reflection of each and every pebble perfectly. Brilliant.
