John, all your works are superb, but this is in a class of it's own. I love a painting that draws you in, so that every time you look theres something new to see - this is just wonderful.

A view of the ever crowded Eastgate in the lovely, bustling city of Chester, where I often shop and browse. I have treated the street architecture as a theatre set, and peopled it with figures both present on the day , plus a selection of figures from the large library of images I collect for just such purposes. Some of the colours are deliberately exaggerated or changed, particularly in the windows and pavement sufaces, to create the bright vibrant mood I felt on the day. 80cm x 60cm x 3cm , on a wooden panel - painted around the sides too.
