I’m fascinated by the “city” colours you’re using John because I’m daring myself to paint Newcastle Haymarket and the Monument. And I’ll certainly be watching you tonight. My claim to fame on tv was that I won the Pointless trophy😆

Oh wow! Pointless!! You’re a legend Marjorie!! Glad the colours interest you, I use raw umber, paynes grey, neutral grey 5, yellow ochre, cadmium red, ultramarine and some mixing white… but we all have our personal choices. Good luck painting Newcastle 😊😊😊

Nicely done John, 😊 will be watching tonight good luck 🤞

Thanks Stephen, I hope you enjoy the program 🙏🏼😊

Woohoo! Fame…..I’ll be watching too, best of luck! Love the loose interpretation and palette John. I’m off to Edinburgh next week, easier to visit now I live closer…… wonderful city! Is this The Waverley hotel? I’ve stayed there, flippin noisy at night!

Thanks for the info on the colours John.

Has that rugged granite grey stone look to it John but you have made it look very appealing to the eye.

Just watched the prog - what a day with that afternoon weather. You looked as though you enjoyed it, not everyone seemed to. I liked your painting very much, bad luck for not going through!

I watched the programme tonight. It’s shame you didn’t go through to the next to the next round. I like the strength of your colours and brushstrokes in this painting.

Enjoy Edinburgh Fiona! It’s a stunning place! I could easily do a week plein air painting down there!! Let me know if you’re up for some 😊😊😊

Thank you Chris, you’re very welcome Marjorie 🙏🏼🤗😜😊

Marjorie and Spencer!!! Thanks for watching the program and I’m delighted you like the paintings!! It was howling weather but we’ll worth the experience 😊😊😊

A superb piece. Love the spontaneity and boldness of your brushwork and the accents in all the right places.
