I first painted a watercolour underpainting using diluted permanent rose. I then painted with pastels on top after the layer was completely dry. The view is towards the Hottentots-Holland mountains from the Helderberg Nature Reserve. The early sun caught the vineyards behind the trees, rendering them beautifully against the backdrop of the mountains.
