Changing the Guard, with police escort....
Yesterday in London. I did this from a series of phone photographs, as there wasn't time to catch the action in paint. I tried to memorise and tell a story... I was struck, as the Guard approached, that there was a police rider front and rear, shouting at the crowds to keep back or they would be mown down. it seemed whimsical to me that the Guards, complete with ceremonial regalia and presumably weaponry, required the escort to comply with the law. I'll bet these guys are quite capable of taking care of themselves and anyone else who gets in their way! This is water soluble felt pen on paper. Maybe not in the intended spirit of the day, which was a painting course run by David Howell, at The Mall Gallery, but another representation of London life.
