Shame if it your last one Jenny it is very, very good, you have caught the essence of Marilyn perfectly here

gave myself a headache peering so closely at ref photo and still managed to not really capture the loveliness of her. I suppose it isn't a complete failure if you managed to recognise her, Ros. Thank you

Like Ros I think it would be a shame; it's a powerful image, Jenny. Superbly carried out.

Dont give up this is good, I think you have caught her likeness and her personality. It is difficult from a photo but you overcame that......

I agree - don't be too hard on yourself, we are always our harshest critics and I personally think this is an extremely good rendition of Marilyn especially if that's your first attempt!!! Can't be easy taking a small pic and making them larger and with more detail. keep up the great work.........

This is great.,I have just posted a painting of this late actress,I found it a challenge as she has been represented so many times. You have done a good job.

Thank you James, Keith, Jane and David. It was an interesting experiment but I didn't enjoy it and I am not very pleased with it

However, as has been said, we know who it is. It's not your lack of skill or talent; it's the source material ....

wow Jenny! :-p this is fabulous :-) i think you have done a fantastic job, and i can just imagine the headache it gave you creating this :-) it is very clever your use of milton and quink :-)

Jenny, this is a really excellent piece! There's likeness, personality and great composition all rolled into that painting. I hope it's not the last!

NO you can't say that! it's excellent:)Linda

Wow, spot on Jenny. Are your ribs better? hope so!

thank you Gudrun, the source photo was beautiful. Thank you Rebecca - I don't think the medium is suitable for her lovely colouring. Thank you Seok and Linda it is the least creative thing I have ever done, LOL, an exercise I don't wish to repeat. Thank you Carole, much better by day, thank you for asking, but still too painful when I lie down so terribly short on sleep.
