This is beautiful, the colours instantly appeal that red/orange with the turquoise is beautiful. i then looked closer at the subject very intricate, not something that i would normally like. The large net is very good. Is this a change of subject for you or an older painting. You are very versitile.

Beautiful painting Jenny. lovely compostion and palette colours

Thank you Helen, and Petra - am glad you like it but can take very little credit for it, everything which 'works' was handed to me on a plate, the trawlers were in line, the nets were being 'fettled', the colours of nets and rusting metal etc, all there for the doing ! All I had to do was walk up and down a couple of times till I found the angle I liked best - which had to be with the winding gears in a row and the wooden jetty to help to 'ground' it all. Not really a change of subject, have always loved working boats and paint them as often as I get the chance, more usually at Hastings. I have only recently realised I had hardly ever posted paintings on here - probably because people were so kind about my drawings I didn't want to jinx it

Beautiful art! Very impressive! I like the rusty look of the machineries, and the net is masterfully done!

Jenny this is amazing. You are obviously a very talented artist and your drawing skills outstanding. I've never been to Newhaven but looking at this makes it very inviting. Many thanks for your further comments on my "Hastings beach boat" and the "Net huts" -such very encouraging comments. In the painting of the nets huts I have been very selective -it's a case of leaving out more than you put in. That particular picture is only 7" X 5" and I think if I had done a bigger painting I might have done better with the cliffs. I'm planning to go to my first ever painting class this week so hopefully things will improve!!

This is stunning, Jenny! I love the palette, and the way you created the vignette. I wouldn't worry about posting your paintings - this stands head and shoulders with the best. Looking forward to more!

Absolutely wonderful. It has such a colourful looseness to it and also is full of interest. Love the way you have faded it out at the edges of the painting as this makes the viewer concentrate on the middle section - the important bit.

Wow, that looks complicated. Beautiful acrylic painting Jenny and not a bit of charcoal dust in sight LOL

Absolutely brilliant

Its all been said already Jenny, but I just had to comment on how nice this is :)

Well, that's me hanging my brushes up Jenny!!Lol. Absolutely stunning, love everything about it.

The whole thing is a joy. The colours, the composition, the shapes the boats and nets make. It's all a beautiful pattern in itself but the detail is fantastic ! Great work - love your gallery

thank you Edo, the rust was fun & simple when using very wet acrylics, just dropping one pigment into the other, the net was more tricky. Thank you Carol, I get to Newhaven even less frequently than I get to Hastings, think I just got lucky that day. Hope you enjoy your art class, think I should have done some of those. Thank you Seok and Thea for your comments, kind as always. Thank you Val - no dust involved, LOL Thank you Pat, Sarah, Fiona and Beverley for your kind comments

well being in the right place at the right time, this is a beautiful piece of work love the color and second all the above comments lets see some more like this you really do know how to use Acrylic and get detail and softness.

Jenny what an absolute stunner, can I say in response to your comment, nothing is handed out on a plate, it was you who saw the potential and best angle of the subject. Therefore you had to work to generate the composition and what a composition it is. Not only is the subject interesting, but the way you have crowned the subject with the cloud formation. The highlight for me is the use of the intense orange, in how you have transferred its reflection to the water and more subtle way you have used it in the sky and background, plus all the other fabulous attributes. Just one hell of a good painting. Can't wait to see more.

Thank you Rachel and Peter, such nice comments this has received, really makes my day !

Beautiful ! Composition and palette are perfect!

So different from from usual work but equally lovely.

Really really beautiful Jenny, so much work you have put in here.

Thank you Avril, Denise and Carole for your kind comments

This is super - and to think I nearly missed it!

I also almost missed this beauty, Jenny: I agree with ALL the above comments: a stunning painting.

Wonderful art work Jenny, just had a look through your gallery...really amazing art, such a variety of subjects all with amazing detail.

Thank you Andrea, such lovely comments make my day !
