Thank you Rebecca, Paul, Val, Fiona, Denise, Ruthy and Seok. That was what I was aiming at, Val. The series was painted for an exhibition themed 'all corners of the British Isles' My landscape skills are not good so I decided to use bits of architectural detail, choosing windows and portals each framing an 'element'. Earth is a window at Battle, Sussex, Water from a ruined church in Scotland, Air is from a chapel in Wales and Fire a doorway in Ireland. Then I had the idea of having a dancer echoing/ or orchestrating the element.
