This is a wonderful portrait, so well drawn, Jenny, and what stories that old face could tell. Keep the charcoal out and work to please yourself - it clearly pays off!

What a cracking portrait and as Jane quite rightly says in her comment, the stories that face out tell. He looks like a real character, full of liveliness and fun. Love this picture.

This is a really good charcoal portrait. I love using charcoal, and especially for portraits and figurative work, it gives such lovely skin tones. In the same way, I like the directness of pastels, both oil and soft pastels. I often use oil pastels to add finishing touches to oil and acrylic paintings. Your art work is lovely.

Pleasing yourself is what it's all about, lovely work.

Smashing portrait Jenny, love to meet the guy he looks like he has a story or two to tell.

And so you should please yourself Jenny. Full of character and a great piece of art.

charcoal 9" x 7" I had put away my charcoal ( In the gallery they were going down about as well as a cup of cold sick! ) but now that I am only working to please myself I wanted to flex my charcoal fingers again. I enjoyed that ................
