Thank you Alan. I'm so glad you like it. It is very different for me, but I enjoyed painting it. The Gold Leaf IS beautiful, and Klimt's work must have been a knock-out! I must try another with crystals on it. The mind boggles........ Thank you Carole. It's good to hear what you think as this is totally different for me! Thank you Heather. Interesting concept Jennifer and I expect the photo doesn’t show the gold leaf at its best, bet it looks stunning in the flesh.

Thank you Fiona. The photo is not as good as the painting for showing the gold leaf, but you can see enough to imagine the rest...which is probably better than anything!!! 😀

A combination of Klimt , Charles Rennie Macintosh and Margaret Macdonald is in this painting. It stemmed from a photo I took of a garden gate. The pattern on the ironwork of the gate made me think of paintings of these friends work , all of which I adore. I used gold leaf here on the watercolour. It is a painting influenced by CRM and his friends work.
