Beautifully portrayed, Jem, particularly the tree foliage.

Very topical,Jem. What a disastrous time this year in this area. I like the many tones of grey - brings it all together with the water leading you in to the picture.

Super trees once again Jem, I like their silhouettes against the pale sky.

My eye is caught by the light on the water and I think the sharp edges on it and on the foreground reeds against the soft trees in the background work beautifully

Absolutely wonderful Jem.

Great light and reflections, Jem.

Absolutely superb - all of it - the sky, the distant hills, the trees, the reflections in the water.

You've managed to capture the light really well, especially shining thro the tree and the reflections in the water

A wonderful combination of tones and textures Jem. The light going through the water and into the sky is gorgeous.

Hello to you all and thank you so much for all your generous comments. I found this really tricky. No stark light and shade to help out, rather a muted (winter morning) back-light, and a lot of the content - ie. the died back grasses/reeds - are just fiddliness. A challenge.

Lovely confident and harmonious painting. Yes, I bet this is now a sodden mess and under water, but such it the power of nature that I am sure it will return to it's glory in a few months.

I like this Jem, lovely brushwork and natural colour. Will we ever dry out?

Thank you Thea and Carole. Lovely sunny morning here in Bristol, at the moment...

Fabulous painting, catching the glancing light on the flooded landscape. It probably IS totally submerged now, but then, where isn't? Do you get the impression we're all drowning ....?

It's a bit damper now!! Lovely painting - such a simple scene but you have made much of it with your wonderful brush work and choice of palette.

Half-imperial size as normal. A field corner near Glastonbury. This is from last winter mind, it's probably totally submerged at the moment.
