STORM CLOUDS OVER BAMBURGH

STORM CLOUDS OVER BAMBURGH

You are lucky to live in the north east...amazing views and countryside. I think I have sat in almost the same place as you have to paint this scene. . Though I did get very wet. This is so full of atmosphere. Great.

Wonderful pastel work, Jimmy, with bags of drama. I know this region well and you've caught the colours beautifully. The foreground details are so utterly convincing, with the sand and rocks being spot on. The ominous sky turns the entire picture into a real eye-catcher. Great stuff. Bri

Come from near here so very familiar with the area. You have painted a very authentic view which has a great natural feel to it. I especially like your moody sky, a typical Northumbrian trait.

An outstanding piece of seascape art...so nice to view. AlanW

Lovely, large sky sets the scene.

Beautifully pastel work - great technique. A impressive picture of a dramatic landscape - haven't been to Bamburgh for years but remember it well - fabulous area.

Excellent detail - love that place

Thank you to all for your comments they really do mean a lot to me. You may have noticed that this is the same picture I posted some time ago but was painted in Acrylic's, well I thought it would be a good idea to do it in Pastel and see if I had better control when painting the clouds, I really am pleased with the result.

Superb Jimmy. Have left some comments on your last painting so hope you see them. What I like about this painting is the very natural, raw, approach you have taken and the diagonal composition which works beautifully Jimmy. A painting to be very proud of.
