Owl on a Post

What an absolutely beautiful result Jeannie... and very brave putting it under the tap! Super textural marks!

Jeannie, what a great way to turn lemons into lemonade! I think this technique is a keeper!

A very natural "alive"painting Jeannie. Lovely work.

Well, the technique worked, it's glorious!

It has resulted in a beautiful painting, with those soft colours and textural effects.

Stunning.

This is amazing Jeannie. The pose of the owl and the feathers are wonderful. Love how you have achieved the textures.

Thank you so much for all of your encouraging comments.

Superb marks. What a result!

Wow, it's gorgeous!

A superb painting Jeannie. The feathering effect is wonderful against the hazy background.

Absolutely gorgeous!

It has turned out really well indeed.

I started this watercolour and didn't like it so I washed it under the tap. As an idea, I put some clingfilm over the bird's body. I was surprised to find some lovely feathery marks when it was dry so I worked into the marks to produce these textural effects.
