Nice work Janet and good to see a WIP, interesting indeed.

Janet I love your daughter's painting its modern and naive beautiful honestly if only we could keep some of the child in our paintings

Thank you Alan.Thank you Dennis, yes her painting has a freshness and naivety that gets lost somewhere along the way. I think it was Picasso who said something along the lines of "it's taken a lifetime to learn how to paint like a child"! By the way she's my eldest granddaughter, not daughter!

Beautiful Wip Janet and lovely work by granddaughter

Two very good still lifes, many with experience and knowledge strive to find the freedom a child portrays in their art, and never do. Both are very good.

Good for you Janet, letting her get on with lovely work like this. Our GD loves it but has so many distractions just wish I could keep her attention, but that's life. I am waiting with high expectations to view your finished piece but I know it will be good.

Thank you all for your lovely comments. This GD, Lucy, has always been interested and very keen, although with the attention span of a gnat for everything else! this is the first painting she has done that is not just from her imagination and all her paintings are good ( but I guess I am a tiny bit biased!)

WIP from me, of lemons from the garden, that were unripe when I started it a few weeks ago. Then painting with Lucy my seven year old granddaughter last week, she decided to paint it too. She polished hers off effortlessly and I like the way she has exaggerated the colours. The lemons have taken on an orange tinge that she has enhanced. She has already included the blue rim round the dish and imaginatively given it a complimentary colour background.
