Thanks for the comments. I can&#39;t make my mind up if she&#39;s powerful or a bit sinister and I&#39;m the one who painted her!<br />And Yes Moraira is a great place to live and the light is so good for painting all year round

Quite a challenging portrait, working on a textured surface, or using a painting knife? This is not a woman with whom you would choose to trifle........... strong work, I like it.

Yes you wouldn&#39;t want to mess with her and I did paint it on a textured surface ( tissue paper scrunched up and stuck down haphazardly using a mix of PVA glue and water) using brushes rather than a knife, which I have done on a few pieces. I like the effect but it&#39;s quite difficult to paint as the lumps and bumps always seem to be in the &#39;wrong&#39; place. I suppose it could be planned better, but that&#39;s not really me ! I prefer to see where it takes me.
