La primavera ha llegado, Arbol de almendros (Spring has arrived, the almond tree)
En plein air painting completed this morning in an hour. I pass this tree in the fields every day when I walk my dogs and have been looking at it in full blossom for the last week; every day meaning to go back and paint it. This morning I made it! It is oil on canvas, using a very turpsy wash paint on most of it. It's 18 degrees so it was drying quite quickly anyway. The fields are over the road from my house and this tree was unpruned, away from the main almond grove which made it a bit different. The main almond grove is a bit more sheltered and is not fully in bloom yet- next weeks plein air painting perhaps!
