Yes Derek I agree. I prefer the blue too and I enjoyed doing it more ( which always shows with my work). I think it has more about it and that is what I was trying to do - push the idea and play around with the concept.

The exploring was a success, the flesh tones are subtly varied and with great tonal value. As for the overall composition,the idea of the screen works well, with the curves leading the eye around the piece. Really well done.

This is the first painting in a little project where I am exploring flesh colours. This is the first of two paintings of the same image. In this one I have completed it in tonal colours in more or less natural flesh colours. It is oil on canvas.
