Very brooding atmosphere. Like all the texture here.

All good postings Janet. I love the battered stubbornness of Dunstanburgh Castle and your painting does it proud

Excellent painting Janet, very atmospheric.

You have captured that windyness really well Janet. Very dramatic.

Fabulous sense of weather, great brushwork Janet

Thank you for your feedback everyone. It was one of those days where you could lean into the wind and you wouldn’t fall!

Gorgeous painting.

What a wonderful painting. It takes me right there Janet. Spent a lot of time here in my youth and you have portrayed the scene so accurately and with such feeling.

The colours and brushstrokes really add to the atmosphere of this great painting.

Great painting

Love the water at the shoreline - the breakers are super.

Beautiful dramatic dark sky and sea.

A great painting - full of drama and energy.

I agree with Marjorie. The textures of the rocks, smaller stones and grasses are just right, without too much detailed definition. I enjoyed seeing your work at Howick on Monday.

Thank you everyone for your comments 😊 Roger - how nice you came to Howick!

Beautiful light handling.

An incredibly strong wind at Dunstanburgh Castle, Northumberland, inspired this painting.
