I love the effect, what medium have you used?

Hi Katy. Its acrylic. The background is done via an acrylic flow method on canvas prepared with gesso, then the deer are painted in a traditional manner. I paint the animals in white/cream to get the balance and shape right, then go tonal; lights-darks-mid range. It takes about four layers.

We live on the edge of the New Forest and just occasionally you may spot a deer with young. Painted in acrylic on an abstract acrylic flow background to depict the trees and sunlight.
