Christmas on Mousehold Heath
Big-C Christmas card in aid of charity - Mixed Media Yes -yes I know that it is a bit early for all of this. However, it is all in a good cause. I was asked at short notice in August to paint a scene for the local christmas card for the Big-C cancer charity. If you don't know about Big-C then they are Norfolk and Waveney's very own cancer charity which was setup by a guy called David Moar in 1980. He had cancer at the time and had to travel all the way to London to recieve treatment and so made a pact with another patient that if they survived then they would start a charity to provide epuipment and support closer to home. David survived and stuck to his promise. But it isn't just about Norfolk as they provide funding for research projects at the University of East Anglia. The sort of projects which the bigger charities may miss and so something may come from them which finds that lead to a cure which benefits everyone who has been affected or may be affected in the future. If you wish to purchase the cards pleade go to www.big-c.co.uk and visit their shop. I don;'t get a bean and am happy to help - having lost my mother in January to Cancer. At least you will get something for your donations which will spread the love elsewhere. And if you don't like my design and want an alternative then they have the cheaper cards which aren't on 260 gsm card.
