This is very atmospheric, Jamie. Line and wash is my favourite technique. There is so much sunlight on the church and the spontaneity of your loose style is beautiful.

A line and wash of Worstead Church. Ihad to photograph the scene on my way home from work as the sky was so dramatic. I captured lots of shots of Worstead (a village near where I live), and then this light was sudenly gone. It would have been difficult in the time allowed to do an on-the-spot painting. Still, with painting from photos, I will only allow myself a limited time to do the job as I wish to energise the painting rather than get everything exactly right.. Hence the perspective is a bit out, but I would rather a fast free-hand drawing than a phoographic image. It is just my personal mountain I am attempting to climb.
