I like the treatment of the trees in the background, and I get a sense of drama with these workers battling the elements to get their work done. The open van door is an open invitation to trap some light on the heads and bodies of the men, for a real sense of drama. A lovely candid piece, and an unusual choice of subject matter, particularly with more traditional scenes close at hand. Did you dry off in the Wheatsheaf?
