Tippex? Crumbs. I've been using a white acrylic ink for similar purposes; I suspect that it flows better than correction fluid. ~~~ It sees to me that you've allowed your tonal contrast to get too high. Perhaps easier on the twig next time? I'm presuming that you're working with a dip pen, and that the dark bits got tedious (they do that). Those thick black marks don't gel with the rest of the drawing, though. You might want to try smaller areas of solid black, with the edges - and a few "holes" in the black - feathered with pen hatching. Try taking a second, larger pen with you, or a brush; either of these should permit greater control than a twig. Having said that, however, I applaud you for your ingenuity in the use of said twig!

Actually it looks pretty decent, perhaps just lacking a little midtone where the tree is. The spontaneity and atmosphere are there in spades.

I like this, but I would agree about the tree. Is this where the Tippex is? The problem I would see here ( and I have done it myself) is that by trying to get back to the original by using remedial tippex is that it would lack crispness, and begin to look overworked. But having said this, I love the composition of the picture. Perhaps a break from the subject and come back to it later?

Thank you to the tree of you for your helpful comments; brush and pen thicket twig good idea. mid tone -yes. I wish there was a way to respond personally to you on this site , so I hope the message reaches you!

I've struggled with this one: as you can see it's number 13 in a series of studies of this redundant psychiatric unit. Yesterday the shadows were so intense, almost crowding the place out. Ink applied with nib and twig and remedial work with typex!. Any helpful comments from my art friends?
