This is a very nice painting. It's Bolton, Lancs, isn't it? Years since I was there.

Great drawing and detail. Very good tree with excellent bark - love the array of copper tones in it. Nice addition of a figure to keep it grounded - so many landscapes (including my own sadly) are ghost towns with no people in them, so it is nice to have a human form. The only tiny thing is that there seems to be a lot of very acid green in the grass and bushes. I find that green can be such a vicious colour in a painting that it can be too insistent if not quite the right shade. Just an opinion of course.

Thea: I agree, the greens are a bit over the top, I fiddled to much on this one.
