Lovely use of pastel James, is it oil pastel?

Thank you Margaret and Linda. This was done with soft pastels — Unison and Rembrandt, mostly the latter.

This is a rough gnarly mountain and you've painted it so well. Really caught it's character.

Thank you for these further comments which I appreciate greatly. I chose a black Canson Mi-Teintes surface for this. After posting the photo, I smoothed the sky a bit more to conceal the flecks of black, but left them in the rugged landscape.
