Black Sail, now a YHA hostel, is a remote shepherd’s bothy in Ennerdale, Cumbria. This scene is based on a photo I took about 15 years ago after a long and exhilarating walk. Tinted charcoal and graphite (Derwent XL) and charcoal pencils (General) on slate grey laid paper (Strathmore).
