Oh goodness I was so excited when I saw this I fluffed up my log on. This is absolutely utterly stunning and exciting; those swirly fluffy clouds reflected in the water, the contours of the mountains, the fantastic sky and the pinpoints of light reflected from the land. Oh gosh I'm literally bouncing and just ran to get my husband to look at it. For once it didn't get Umm, it got "ooh that's lovely" and believe me that comment is very rare. Think of as many superlatives as you can and add them to this. Brilliant, it really appeals to me. And you call yourself an amateur? Phooey!

The cloud effect is superb.......The reflections are spot on..........the whole painting is out of this world. Well Done.

I just love this painting. It has so much drama, especially as the colours are so limited. I love the way you have just let the paint do its own thing in the painting of the water - that freedom takes courage. The sky is so bold and imaginative - in fact I feel that this painting is really all about the sky. A really fantastic work. So well done!

OH,my goodness me..!!!!!! thankyou all for superb comments...very much ..indeed. well i expect you will all, not belive what i am going to say..!!!! but this is another " DOODLE" it took no longer than...about 5-to-10..mins to do.!!!!! i was wondering what to paint, couldn't get inspired by any subject.! and then i rembered a painting that i had seen in the ..Tate -Gallery, it was a painting, (cannot remember by who. ) that looked something like this one. from a distance, it was stunning..and really caught the eye. but once you got close to it,...it was just a lot of loose brush-strokes, and you couldn't tell ...what it was.!!! so i thought i'd give it a try.!!! it sort of painted itself really. i think that i am begining to learn...NOT to try so hard to be...fiddly, and just get a bit looser with my brushes.!!!! as for you Diana,.... i cannot think of any superlatives !! that would apply to me,...expect one ! and thats,....Lucky..to have met such a wonderfull bunch of folk on here. thankyou for that. and i am...very much an amateur.."AMATEUR painter.!! i can honestley say that, because ..half the time,....."i really do not know what i'm doing"! kind regards, .
