absolutely beautiful - what an effect - the water, the trees the light. One can lose oneself in the painting.

What an incredible painting. I have a very real dislike and fear of the river Wye; of all rivers I've ever seen, it seems to me to be almost evil; so deep fast and solid. You've captured that depth and swiftness yet managed to make the light on it dance. You've made it beautiful yet still threatening. I knew which river this was without the title.

Wow! Didn't expect such a deep response! I visited the river once, for a week of camping. It was years ago and we were based near Simmonds Yat but I remember the deep, powerful river in it's lower course and the deep greens reflecting off it's surface. I love water and rivers and just love trying to capture the light as it glistens on the surface.

I didn't see this until it popped up on the sidebar; fantastic bit of painting, and I see what Diana means about its sinister aspect; but like you, I love water and ONE DAY I hope to be able to paint it as well as you can.
