Pen Y Ghent from Crooks' Path
WS Oil on canvas board 8" x 6". Pen Y Ghent has always been a bugbear of mine to paint, as I see it every day I can never be satisfied with the way it is on canvas, its moods change so readily with different weather, and the weather changes all too frequently here. This morning was an ideal opportunity to get the daily sketch done, as rain is forecast for around lunchtime. So once the wife and kids were sent merrily on their way I managed to capture this view of the hill with today's changing conditions. Again it took around 1 1/2 hours to complete, I had to work fast as both my parents and mother in law were arriving.
