A real sense of the barren winter landscape Ian. Nice work.

Great work and the positioning and colour in the sign is spot on.

Appropriately grim and barren. The subtle hints of colour show a deft touch. The title across the snowy verge adds a touch of nostalgia, reminding one of postcards from another era.

Love it, know it. With caption or not.

A tremendously atmospheric work. Great!

Brilliant title, brilliant painting.

A "real" Winter Scene. I can almost feel the slipppery feel at the Steering wheel and the Bbrake Foot. Drive carefully! Very authentic Painting Ian.

Oil on Board 18" x 12"; A combination of snow and sheep bring Upper Ribblesdale to a standstill. These are Salt Lake cottages, some railway houses on the Gauber Road, the B6479 near Ribblehead. Bit of tongue-in-cheek, which I have emphasised by the use of a caption (not to everyone's taste). Good thing about these winter scenes is it forces the use of a very limited pallette, and focus more on the tones, the red of the sign returns it from the monochrome.
